MANILA, Philippines - Sherwood Hills Golf Club, fresh from staging a major event each for the pros and amateurs, is gearing up for an exciting second Suntrust Cup invitational golf tournament slated on Saturday in Trece Martires City, Cavite.
About 70 three-man teams will test the Jack Nicklaus par 72 signature course, which hosted the P2.5M ICTSI-Sherwood Hills Classic and Philippine Amateur Closed Championship recently.
Club president Harrison Paltongan of Suntrust Properties Inc. (SPI) will join the modified scramble invitational with lead event partners Compact Graphics Advertising Design Services, Beneficial Life-PNB Life Insurance Co., Trinity Insurance Brokers, Davies and CA Exhibits.
Most of the slots have already been filled up for the upcoming edition which has Alcon Advertising, Sagada Construction, Golforce, Meister Watches and Turf Company-Texas Eagle as platinum sponsors.
Supported by The Philippine STAR and backed by Utopia Advertising, Rhema Adv., JJMR Construction, Union Bank, Business Mirror, G&W Shares, Rizgolf, Custom Clubmakers, Isuzu, ABW/Whealth Inc., Impact, and Interconnect Systems, the event will also feature the grand launch of the swimming pool and mini golf facilities.
The adult and kiddie pools and mini-golf course are part of the clubhouse’s upgrade. Already operational is the La Palestra Game Room that features unique football and air hockey games.
Likewise in the pipeline of Sherwood Hills’ development program in the coming years are the gym, fishing wharf and additional nine holes, which would soon start construction in the third quarter of this year.
