MANILA, Philippines - The country’s top and rising junior netters take center stage on May 14-20 as Toby’s Sports holds the 11th edition of its annual Summer Tennis Festival at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
Toby’s sports president Toby Claudio said in yesterdays PSA Forum that he expects around 400 participants in the tournament presented by Toby’s Sports and leading partner PLDT-SMART Foundation.
“We’re very happy to announce that the tournament has been growing every year,” said Claudio. “This is a good way to see our kids out, see them play, and enjoy sports in general.”
The meet is a category 2 tournament and sanctioned by the Philippine Tennis Association. Ranking points will be awarded to the winners of the various age groups – 18, 16, 14, and 12-and-under age groups in both boys and girls divisions.
Similarly, a 10-under unisex event will be held during the meet that has spawned the likes of top Filipino netters Jessica Agra, Kyle Dandan, Czarina Mae Arevalo, Melissa Orteza, Ralph Kevin Barte, and Francis Nino Alcantara.
Registration forms, which are available at the Philta office and
Toby’s Sports Outlets, must be submitted on or before May 11.
