MANILA, Philippines - Ugochukwu Okoro Ubiam knocked in a goal late in the first half as Kaya FC forced a 1-1 draw with Stallion Gilligan’s FC to gain a share of second place with Loyola Meralco Sparks in the First Division of the United Football League at the University of Makati field in Makati Wednesday night.
After Jomar Lestingio gave Stallion a 1-0 lead following a 14th minute goal, the LBC-backed Kaya side fought its way back with Ubiam coming through late in the first half in a replay of their rain-cancelled match last month.
The two teams had several scoring chances in the second half but failed to score for the standoff.
Kaya thus tied Loyola with 28 points on nine wins and a draw against two losses, enabling Global FC to stay at the helm with 30 points on 10 victories against two defeats.
