MANILA, Philippines - A five-game bill, featuring women’s and junior matches, kicks off 18th Fr. Martin Summer Cup on Sunday at the San Beda gym in Mendiola.
Last year’s finalist San Beda-A collides with UST in a junior division showdown at 12 noon after the 9 a.m. game between Adamson and National College of Business and Arts and the 10:30 a.m. match between Jose Rizal U and Jesus Is Lord Christian Foundation.
In women’s play, Ateneo squares off with Our Lady of Fatima University at 1:30 p.m. while Lyceum Philippine University battles Far Eastern U at 3 p.m.
A total of 40 school teams are competing in the three-month long cagefest, including 18 high school boys squads and six women’s quintets. Sixteen teams will dispute the collegiate men’s crown.
UAAP seniors and juniors champion Ateneo heads the cast along with NCAA juniors titlist San Beda College, UAAP campaigners La Salle, FEU, Adamson and the University of the East.
Others seeing action are NCAA campaigners Letran, Perpetual Help and JRU.
