Magsaysay-Teves entry rules NCA championship derby

MANILA, Philippines - JV Magsaysay, Joel and Gerry Teves dominated the field to share top honors in the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) World Championship Derby at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City over the weekend. 

The troika’s entry, Tiffany and AMA, defeated the best of the best to finish with 6 1/2 points and capture the overall championship in the three-day event.

Rep. Rudy Albano’s Mulawin, Johnny Jalandoni’s Jacob Star of Negros, Thunderbird Binangonan of Nene Araneta and Dong Lamoste, Dynasty of Henry Tan, Jade Resort 2 of Arman Santos, Araw ng Davao of Dori Du and CPB JGT AAO of Claude Bautista all wound up with six points.

Regal Pest of Biyong Garing, Goldquest Champions of Osang dela Cruz, AAO Hitcock of Gerry Ramos, and IKA sa Pasay of Butchoy Olano and Alberto Cruz finished with identical 5 1/2 points while CJT Pleasant SF 1 of T. Sevilla, Tiffany and GCT of Danny Teves, BST Scorpio Binangonan of Ricky Valencia, Firefly 15 of Tom Wilson, SF Firefly 12 of Bebot Uy, and Tungkong Mangga of Tady Palma all had five points.

Meanwhile, the NCA holds another derby today to be hosted by Rene Medina and Bebot Uy.

Leading the cast are Tommy Chua, Osang dela Cruz, Mayor Elan Nagaño, Rene Medina, Bebot Uy, Jun Topacio, James Uy, Eugene Martin, Luding Boongaling, Manny and Armand Santos, Patrick Antonio, Gerry Ramos, the Firefly Group, Gov. Ito Ynares, Nestor Mercado, Lito Orillaza, Charlie Ang, Joel and Danny Teves, the first NCA Cocker of the Year Mario Villamor, Manny Pacquiao, Ramon Mancenares, Rudy Albano, Jimmy Ang, Efren Canlas and JIMAFER, Junjun Salazar, T. Sevilla, JR Tolentino, Eric dela Rosa, Butchoy Olano, Gov. JJ Suarez, Eddie Gonzales, Ricky Valencia, Boy Torres, George Torres, Claude Bautista and Boyet Joson.
