MANILA, Philippines - Riding on the success of the first semester hosting, NCAA president Anthony Tamayo is hoping the holiday break would give everyone – the athletes, coaches and officials – to brace for more success in the continuation of the second semester sports of Season 87.
“As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, I wish the league more success just like what we reaped when we hosted the first semester sports,” said Tamayo, who also chairs the league policy board.
“It’s in the spirit of Christmas that we wish everyone more blessings particularly to the member schools, athletes, coaches and students.
“We wish all our athletes good health as well as wisdom to our coaches and more diligence and inspiration to our officials to make the second semester games even more exciting and fun-filled,” he added.
Tamayo is also confident his Perpetual Help teams will do good in the second semester.
“To our team, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, I wish you the best of luck and perhaps new championships in the future,” said Tamayo. “May you foster the spirit of sportsmanship as well as humility while maintaining competitiveness.”
Of course, the Altas are doing good in women’s, men’s and high school indoor volleyball as all three are in title contention.
“The school is behind them and supporting them,” said Tamayo.
“Again to everyone, let us remember the reason for the season – celebrating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. The best gift we could offer is the gift of love and harmony in the league,” he added.
