MANILA, Philippines - UAAP champion Far Eastern University and Adamson rolled to their third straight wins while La Salle outlasted University of the East in the FCBL Dickies Cup Saturday at the Philippine Buddhacare gym in Quezon City.
With Karen Columna and Camille Sambile on the firing end, the Lady Tamaraws held off the tough University of Santo Tomas side, 68-60, and dealt the Tigresses their third consecutive defeat.
Columna finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks to emerge as the Dickies Underwear Player of the Game.
Sambile wound up with 16 markers as the Morayta-based squad stayed unbeaten in the eight-team tournament backed by Smart, Mang Inasal, Home Depot and Powerhorse.
The Lady Falcons, behind Angelica Ortega, thwarted the Lyceum Lady Pirates, 77-74, remain tied with the Lady Tamaraws.
Meanwhile, La Salle went to Aracelie Abaca to pull off a dramatic 74-69 win over UE for joint third with Centro Escolar University at 2-1.
In another thriller, CEU nipped Ateneo, 58-54, as Charmine Natural came away with 14 points and 16 rebounds to likewise earn the Dickies Underwear Player of the Game award.
Also winning Best Player awards in the third week of the inaugural tournament were Abaca and Ortega.
