MANILA, Philippines - The Sherwood Hills Golf Club caps the year on a high note as it hosts 210 participants making 70 teams in the three-man Modified team scramble tournament dubbed the Sherwood Cup tomorrow at the Jack Nicklaus signature layout in Trece Martires, Cavite.
The one-day event, which stakes a Texas Eagle cart as hole-in-one prize, highlights a great year for Sherwood Hills, which has been undergoing improvement on and off the course, courtesy of the new management group of Suntrust Properties Inc. (SPI).
Coinciding with the event, sponsored by Golforce Inc. and Turf Company, is the opening of La Palestra game room, and Riva Bella groundbreaking of the villas, near the clubhouse.
SPI opened the Rayos del Sol last May.
According to Sherwood general manager Raymond Bunquin, already under constrcution are the 18-hole mini golf course, a fishing wharf and a swimming pool.
Thus, the Sherwood Cup, backed by CJHGC, CJH Manor, Forest Hills, G & W, Greens N Turf, Interconnect System, Isuzu, Junjun Plana, Manila Southwoods, Mizuno, Northwoods, Peniel Kim, Promise Land, Rizgolf, Splendido Taal, WFMC, Whealth Inc., serves to thank the members and guests for their support of the SPI programs.
“It’s been a very good season. Suntrust is slowly maximizing the potential of Sherwood Hills as the top golf and family destination hub in the South,” said Bunquin.
