Cebuana, Big Chill eye share of lead

MANILA, Philippines - Cebuana Lhuillier and Big Chill take on separate rivals today, looking for victories and a share of the lead with Blackwater in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at Trinity University of Asia gym in QC.

The Gems slug it out with the DUB Unlimited Wheelers at 4 p.m. while the Superchargers square off with RnW Pacific Pipes Steelers at 2 p.m.

Despite its impressive win over Cobra Energy Drink last Thursday and DUB Unlimited setback to Blackwater, Cebuana Lhuillier remains wary of its rival, which boasts of collegiate standout Jeric Teng and a mixture of veterans composed of ex-pro Riego Gamalinda, Roel Hugnatan and Raymund Aguilar.

“I expect them to come out stronger than their game against Blackwater,” said Cebuana coach Luigi Trillo.

The Gems actually struggled against the Cobra five but leaned on their defense to secure the victory.

Big Chill coach was far from impressed with his wards’ 82-76 win over Cobra (0-2) last week, stressing the need for his key players to step up to get past the RnW Pacific Pipes side.
