300 riders show wares in Circuit Showdown

MANILA, Philippines - This season turned out to be a phenomenal year for Circuit Showdown as no less than 300 competitors and countless spectators witnessed exciting races run at the Batangas Racing Circuit and Clark International Speedway using different track layouts and directions that provided participants a true developmental experience that the organizers hope will raise the level of Philippine motorsports.

The recently concluded race series, which was supported by Duro Tires, Rota Wheels, DKC Tire Center, Speedlab, Dynapack, Richmond Autoparts, Discovery Suites, Mishimoto, Blox, Recaro, Pitworkz by Hongly, Foil A Car, XYZ Suspension, Z Works Carbon, Runstop Rotors, ECW Performance, Dynamic Suspension, HKS Super Oil, Garage 88 Bar & Resto, C! Magazine, Turbo Time, Stoplight TV, Business Mirror and 99.5RT, saw Marc Thomann, reclaim his Group A title after a season-long battle with first runner-up Carlos Anton and third placer Joby Tanseco.

Group B was dominated by Hernel Castillo, followed by Jeffrey Roxas-Chua and Edward dela Rosa.

The Group C champion was Rico Cheng who bested first timer Palle Hansen and Ramon de Oteyza.

Gernand Andino captured the Group D title in the last race ahead of Christian Sedano and second runner up Alan Arguelles.

Group E was dominated by team MLPH whose drivers took home all three podium slots – Mark Arce, Ulysses Paredes and Christian Sedano, in that order.

Overall Group F honors went to Jules Arambulo in his AE86 followed by the series’ youngest competitor, Polo Bautista, and third placer Ivan Antonio.

In the exciting grid races, former F3 driver Philip Alvendia took home the championship in Grid A with just two points separating him from first runner-up Ferdinand Sia and third placer Paolo Mantolino.

Grid B saw John Pacres prevail over Marcus Timbol and Alan Arguelles.

In Grid R, Rafael La ‘O   lifted the champion’s trophy ahead of Marc Thomann and Eggy Ong.
