Parola, which is being handled by playing coach Biboy Simon and James Laron, swept three of its first four assignments to take the headstart in this eight-team, single-round tournament sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier, Ironcon Builders, Dickies Underwear, PRC Couriers and WG Diner.
The Micah Medical Clinic-supported Parola defeated Star Group, 84-80, 100plus, 94-93, and Secret Spices, 93-91, in overtime.
The team’s lone setback came at the hands of Manila-Hobe, 80-83.
