Stung by a blowout loss to Adamson Falcons in their last game, NU Bulldogs vent their ire on hapless UP Fighting Maroons with a 65-43 runaway victory today in the UAAP Season 74 men’s basketball at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
NU, which is coming off a 68-53 loss to Adamson, clamped down on defense early on as it held down UP to just 13 points in the first half, the lowest since the UAAP started to use a computerized statistical archiving in 2003.
The Bulldogs continued to rattle the slumping Maroons in the second half in a virtual repeat of their first round meeting, which ended in a 75-66 rout.
NU improved to 4-6, just half a game behind joint fourth UST and La Salle both toting 4-5 win-loss records.
UP, meanwhile, went down the cellar with their eight loss in 10 games. - Alder Almo
