Cudala keys TRS karting series romp

MANILA, Philippines - The Tuason Racing team dominated the third leg of the National Karting Super Series with Castrol COF overall champion Raymond Cudala leading the sweep of the top three places at the Boomland Kart Track.

Cudala, a 12-year-old Grade 6 student at Elizabeth Seton School, recorded his third consecutive sweep in the Cadet SQ Expert class, completing the 28-lap race in nine minutes, 10.570 seconds to remain unscathed with 250 points.

Casequin, the nine-year-old son of touring car champion and TRS race car driver Stuart MacDonald, copped the runner-up honors with an 8.175-second clocking.

AT Tuason, grandson of racing legend Arthur Tuason and son of multi-titled champ JP Tuason, slipped past Bryan Thorp at the start of the race and held on to finish third overall.

The strong showing of the TRS Kids further underscored the success of the Castrol Champions of the Future series program which develops and trains young talents into the next generation of racing superstars.

“The fast and highly technical Boomland Kart Track provided the big test to what they learned from the Castrol Champions of the Future Series. And we’re proud of them as they’ve proven their worth with their 1-2-3 feat,” said TRS president JP Tuason.

The team is backed by Castrol, Bridgestone, OMP, Coke Zero, Oakley, Dupont, Starbright Bodykits, Aguila Autoglass, Ultraracing, C! Magazine, Discovery Suites, Speedlab, Belo Men and Toptul.
