Manila, Philippines - Newcomer Niño Garcia made a dramatic entrance in the fourth round of Circuit Showdown which featured various cars from a Honda Jazz to a Porsche GT3 and everything in between in exciting bracket racing recently at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Garcia reigned in Grid Race A for race five and six, while Marcus Timbol and slalom champion Niño Sarte took home the champions’ trophies for Grid Race B.
Competitors in Grid Race R gave the spectators tons of exciting dicing at every corner without exchanging any paint before Rafael La ‘O pulled away to win race five.
Marc Thomann fought back in race six to steal the top spot away from La ‘O in the last two laps of the race.
Philip Albar and Chad Parian took advantage during the two-and-a-half-hour morning practice of the time trials which yielded 55 cars to get expert advice from Circuit Showdown instructors Enzo Pastor and Edward dela Rosa.
Thomann registered the fastest time of the day in 1:49.483 in his Honda Civic EK Race car, stealing the thunder from Joby Tanseco driving his Porsche GT3, during the afternoon session.
Another Porsche GT3RS, driven by Rami Villavicencio, took the third spot in Bracket A. Hernel Castillo won his first-ever champion’s trophy in Bracket B followed closely by Parian and Jeffrey Roxas-Chua.
In Bracket C Paolo Martinez finished first with Tammy Campus second and Rico Cheng third. Bracket D found Lester Shih in first, Edward de la Rosa in second and Alan Arguelles in third. Bracket E winners were CS veteran Mark Arce, first timer Bash Candao and Christian Sedano. Edwin Rodriguez finished first in Bracket F followed by youngster Polo Bautista and Michael Pasumbal.
