Prince jr tennis series resumes

MANILA, Philippines - The Prince NXTGen tennis program for junior age-group players resumes tomorrow at the Don Juan Garcia Tennis Center in Kenram, Isulan Sultan Kudarat with a huge field expected to participate.

Now on its fourth year, the event has drawn over hundreds of young tennis players during the recent kick-off leg in key venues at the Imus Tennis Club in Cavite City, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, La Trinidad, Benguet, Tagum City, Gumaca and Lopez in Quezon and Naga City. 

A two-week free tennis workshop clinic is also being offered to players and enthusiasts 18 years old and below. 

Liza Labrador, product manager of Prince Racquets in the Philippines, said the Prince NXTGen program is a significant move to introduce tennis to the youth as it aims to develop, discover and provide exposure to budding talents and future stars.

Meanwhile, action shifts to the Galas Tennis Club in Dapitan Zamboanga City on May 28 before Triniville Tennis Club at Block 2 Triniville Subd. Plaza Marbel Koronadal City hosts the next stop on June 4-6. The rest of the schedule are Imus Tennis Club in Nueno St. Imus, Cavite (Oct. 22-23, 29-30); Lopez Sports Center, MAL-AY Lopez, Quezon (Nov. 19-21) and Camp Aguinaldo Tennis Club, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City (Dec. 19-23). On-site admission and registration to the clinic and tournament is free at the said venues.
