Sleepless Manny takes it easy in LA

HOLLYWOOD – Manny Pacquiao said he will cool off a couple more days here in Los Angeles before flying home to Manila on Wednesday.

“Relax muna,” he said Sunday, the day after his one-sided victory over Shane Mosley.

Pacquiao took the front seat of the customized bus that brought him, his family and closest supports in a 300-mile trip from Las Vegas to LA.

His wife, Jinkee, stayed beside him during the trip, spent mostly watching the tape of Saturday evening’s fight at the MGM Grand.

During a brief stopover at Barstow, Pacquiao grabbed a bite, some pasta, but did not bother to get off the bus equipped with seven television sets.

“I want to sleep some more,” he said during the stopover where his huge entourage raided the only convenience store in the area for food and drinks. The tab: $485.

“I hardly slept last night,” added Pacquiao, who almost stayed up all night after the fight.

From the MGM Grand, he rested briefly in his Mandalay Bay suite, and showed up at his post-fight concert at around 1 a.m. He was back up in his room at by 3 o’clock.

Pacquiao spent the morning with his fans that joined him in a thanksgiving mass. Then it was off to LA at around 6 p.m. and by midnight he was at his La Palazzo apartment.

Pacquiao said he’d fly home on Wednesday, and be in Manila on Friday.

But it’s all subject to change. It’s all up to Manny.
