Cherifer football fest on

Manila, Philippines - Youngsters from various Metro Manila schools, institutions and clubs slug it out in the first Cherifer Football Festival which kicks off today at the Army Service Command (ASCOM) Football Field in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig.

Club champion Army-Victory A is grouped with powerhouse teams from Letran, CH Buddha Care, Antipolo Football Club L.B. and Cannosa-Calamba in Group A of Boys-95 division.

Members of the Azkals football team will grace the 8 a.m. opener of the day-long festival sanctioned by Philippine Football Federation and backed by Philippine Army Football club headed by Sgt. Ricky Cein and tournament director Ravelo Saluria.

Group B is composed of Don Bosco, Mandaluyong, Achievers FC, Antipolo FC-A, University of Perpetual Help-Jonelta, Don Bosco Tondo and Sta. Rosa FC while St. James College, Aquinas, Don Bosco Makati, Army-Victory B, Bar Tolentino FC and Flame UTD FC composed Group C.

In Boys-99 division, CH Buddha Care, Achievers FC, Don Bosco Makati, Aquinas and Antipolo FC head the Group A cast while Aurora Elem. School, Don Bosco Tondo A, PCU Dasmariñas, Don Bosco Mandaluyong, St. James College and Dela Salle Zobel make up Group B.

Army-Victory A, Marikina E, Letran, UPH Jonelta and DLZ Greenhills are in Group C while Group D is composed of Army-Victory B, Don Bosco Tondo A, Sta. Elena, Westside UTD and Ateneo FC.

In the distaff of the seven A-side event organized by Bernard Ocampo of Dream Sports Enterprises Events and sponsored by InterMed Marketing Philippines (Cherifer Vitamins), Army-Victory A, Miriam FC, Canossa-Calamba, Army-Victory B, Achievers FC and Antipolo FC vie in the Girls-95 while Aurora E.S., Army-Victory A, Army-Victory B and Antipolo FC will clash for the Girls-99 division championship.
