MANILA, Philippines – Dottie Ardina bounced back from a struggling start with a one-over-par 73 to seize a three-shot lead in girls Class A even as Cebu bet Vijay Vasandani III remained on top in the boys side Tuesday after two rounds of the Junior World qualifying tournament of the ICTS Jungolf Summer Circuit at the Manila Southwoods Legends course in Carmona, Cavite.
Ardina, making her final appearance in a Junior World qualifying, posted a 36-hole total of 151 to wrest the upper hand from Andie Unson who fell into a tie for second with Angela de Villa after a 79 for 154.
Vasandani widened his lead to three with a second straight 73. At 146 he paced Andres Saldana who stood at 149 after a 75.
Mia Legaspi and Kristoffer Arevalo broke away from the pack in Class C to build double-digit leads in the race for free tickets to Los Angeles provided by Philippine Airlines for division champions of the event also supported by Pancake House, Terriyaki Boy, Sizzlin Pepper, Chevrolet, Golf Depot, McDonald’s, Duty Free, Friends of Jungolf, A Round of Golf and Inquirer Golf.
Miggy Yee (71-141) led Rupert Zaragosa by two while Princess Superal (70-144) to move up by five over Rachita Vasandani in Class B; Alex Bernard Trinos fired a 63-132 to pace the boys Class D field by five while Harmie Constantino’s pair of 67s gave her a 134 and a six-shot spread.
