MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Hillclimb champion Carlos Anton is the latest addition to the Castrol driver lineup in Philippine racing.
Ced Morales, area business manager for North Luzon, recently signed up the four-time time King of the Hill .
Anton sets out to defend his title on May 8 in the Hills of San Fernando, La Union where over 60 racers will tackle the three-kilometer Pias stage. The series then moves further north to the Hills of Batac, Ilocos Norte in June for the second leg.
“I’m very happy to be racing for Castrol this season, their support in pre-season testing has already been great and we hope to continue our winning ways with them. I believe in their product and thank them for supporting the Filipino racer,” Anton said of his latest sponsor.
Anton will continue to use the Mark Young prepared Honda CRX that has brought him his first four titles in hillclimb racing. Joining Anton in the Yokohama-Castrol-Hornitex team is 2010 Division 2 champion Frankie Domingo, 2009 division 3 champion Dennis Aoyong, and Division 4 front runner Alfie Concepcion.
“The whole team is ready for the 2011 season and we want to go for a blazing start. The series will be running into the rainy season during the third and fourth legs and anything can happen,” team manager Mark Young said.
