MANILA, Philippines - Fitness First Cycling team took command in Stage I then held off its rivals in the criterium and general classification to rule the Immuvit-PCL Tour of Clark Race in Clark, Pampanga recently.
Considered as one of the best executive cycling teams in the country, Fitness First lived up to the hype, winning the 47-km team time trial with an average speed of 41.38kph.
The Fitness First riders hung on to their 25-second lead over BVTC Jac Motors in the Stage 2 Criterium, foiling their rivals attacks then thwarting their pursuers in the third and last stage to likewise top the General Classification.
Mark Ellis ruled the General Classification and led a 1-2-3 finish by the Fitness First members, who included Erwin Navarro and Anthony Dee, who came in second and third, respectively.
“This victory is not only mine but for the team. Without their determination and sacrifice, we would have not been able to achieve such a feat,” said Ellis, also the country manager of Fitness First Philippines and an elite level age group triathlete.
Meanwhile, Fitness First, who campaign was sponsored by Intel, Belo Men, GNC, Phiten, Rudy Project, Dupont, Gu Energy Gel, Suunto and Juice.Ph, is set to see action in the PCL/Immuvit Tour of Subic in May.
