MANILA, Philippines - Joel Salamanca and Paul Sianson needed an extra set to repulse Arvin Ruel and Arwin Cruz, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, and capture the Prime Alliance Global Logistics Inc. second pro-am doubles tennis tournament crown at the Olivarez Sports Center recently.
Salamanca and Sianson recovered from a second set blowout as they outlasted the Ruel-Cruz tandem in a closely-fought third set duel to fashion out the victory in the event held to raise funds for the Handicapped Center, Inc. (Caritas Manila).
The event, with a theme “Palo Mo, Tulong Mo,” was backed by Steel Corp., YVY Logistics, Hapag Lloyd Shipping Lines, Evergreen Shipping Lines, Eagle Express Corp., Solarland Corp., Aeromax Express Corp. and Gulf Energy Technology and Projects.
On hand during the awards rites were Philta president and Paranaque first district Rep. Edwin Olivarez, Councilor Eric Olivarez and Augusto Garcia, charity project organizer and CEO/managing director of Prime Alliance Global Logistics Inc.
