MANILA, Philippines - Xavier School and perennial rival Chiang Kai Shek College bested their respective rivals last Tuesday to arrange a best-of-three title showdown in the Aspirants Division of the Freego Metro Manila Tiong Lian Basketball Association tournament.
Xavier blasted St. Jude Catholic School, 106-52, for its seventh straight win while Chiang Kai Shek College outlasted St. Stephen’s High School, 83-78.
Game 1 will be on Saturday while Game 2 is set on Monday.
Jefferson Tan scored 28 points and Tyler Tio added 20 to lead Xavier School to victory.
Xavier, who owns a 17-game winning run since 2009, is eyeing its ninth straight aspirants title.
