MANILA, Philippines - The Revilla Cup seven-cock invitational derby starts tomorrow night at the Cavite Coliseum and Derby Center in Bacoor, Cavite.
Now on its 20th year, the Revilla Cup has a guaranteed prize of P3 million and will feature entries of prominent Pinoy cocker-breeders like Elwin Javelosa of Bacolod, Bebot Uy and Rey Castañeda of Davao and Patrick Antonio. Saranggani Congressman and Eight Division Champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao had signified his intention to support the event.
With the pot money at P55,000 and minimum bet at P22,000, the handler and gaffer of the winning entry will receive P100,000 and P50,000, respectively. The submission of weights starts today, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will continue on Dec. 8 and 10. Required weight is from 1.8 to 2.5 kgs.
The three night (Dec. 7, 9, and 11) derby will start at 6 p.m. and will be hosted by Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. and assisted by chairman Ramon Revilla, Atty. Rudy Salud, Gerry Ramos, Lito Orillaza, Makati Vice Mayor Nestor Mercado and Imus Mayor Homer Saquilayan.
