Manuel Luis Quezon U, meanwhile, demolished Rizal Technological University, 114-88, to gain at least a tie for the second semis berth.
Former PBA players Niño Marquez and Billy Moody combined for 28 points for Hobe, which bounced back from its loss to Star Group to improve to 6-1.
Marquez, who played for Air21 in the PBA, scored 16 points, including four triples, while Moody, who saw action for San Miguel Beer, added 12 points for Hobe.
