MANILA, Philippines - The Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) is holding the 2010 Administrator’s Golf Cup on June 18 at the Splendido Taal Golf Club in Tagaytay Hills, Batangas to raise funds for community projects that would benefit the people of Cagayan Province.
CEZA, the authority managing the Cagayan Special Economic Zone and Freeport (CSEZFP), said existing locators at the Freeport, members of the Cagayan Golfers’ Association (CGA), Isabela Golf Club, other players from Cagayan Valley region and guests of the Administrator are expected to participate in the golf tournament.
The event is a follow-up to the highly successful staging of the first CEZA Administrator’s Golf Cup held at the same venue in April 2009 with System 36 as tournament format.
Registration fee P3,000 inclusive of green fee, caddie fee, lunch, plus giveaways and a chance to win great items in the raffle.
The tournament, while promoting friendly competition, will serve as a fund-raising activity for the newly established Lingkod-CEZA, which has been incorporated in the CEZA’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program.
Lingkod CEZA is an array of community projects, which intend to reach out to the poorest of the poor Cagayanos by providing opportunities for growth and bringing them into the mainstream of socio-economic development. organizers of the 2010 Administrator’s Cup said.
Located in the coastal town of Sta. Ana in Cagayan province, the 54,118-hectare CSEZFP was established in February 1995, by virtue of Republic Act No. 7922.
Since then, it has transformed into a major investment and employment magnet in the country, moving close to its vision of becoming an open transhipment point for trade in the Asia-Pacific rim.
