MANILA, Philippines - The two-weekend 2010 Hyundai Next Generation Manila Football Cup opens Sunday at the East Field of the Manila Polo Club.
Sixty teams from Metro Manila and other parts of the country are participating in this league, now on its eighth year and played in nine categories.
The boys’ division of the tournament, organized by the Manila Soccer Academy ( MSA ) headed by Maxie Abad and Ricardo Venus and Pure Play Sports, and sponsored by Standard Chartered, Lifeline Rescue, Wi-Tribe, Sonia Trading, McDonald’s, and It’s Bout Time with Balls TV as media partner, will have seven age groups while the girls’ side has two categories, plus the men’s and women’s divisions.
This weekend’s games will feature all the boys’ and girls’ teams while the men’s and women’s divisions will be played on June 6.
This year’s Hyundai Next Generation Manila Football Cup was preceded by the Hyundai Football Challenge, a training competition in dribbling, shooting, and juggling, also held at the Manila Polo Club.
