BACOLOD CITY , Philippines – Paolo Baran and Karla Tadlan, two promising netters from La Carlota City, posted separate twin kills to emerge as the most dominant players in the ninth leg of the Smart/Head Junior Tennis Tour Satellite Circuit 2010 here at the Noah’s Haven Tennis Court Monta Homesite.
Baran, the pride of La Carlota City, ruled the boys 16 and 18-under divisions while Tadlan stamped her class in the same age group of the distaff side of this event presented by notable tennis supporter Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of Smart Sports in cooperation with Head, Chris Sports, Toalson and Meralco.
Baran nearly swept Jeleardo Amazona in the 16-under division, 6-0, 6-1, then defeated Rogelio Estanio Jr., of Parang, Maguindanao, 6-4, 6-3.
Tadlan, on the other hand, went through a wringer against previous leg winner Lenelyn Milo in a thrilling three-set encounter, 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 in the 18-under class, but had an easier time disposing off Chelsea Gacho, 6-3, 6-3, in the 16-under division of this ranking tour event sanctioned by the Philippine Tennis Association.
