MANILA, Philippines - This young karting ace is also good baseball outfielder.
Eleven-year-old Jaz Monzones, one of the strong contenders for the KT Novice karting crown, plays a different tune this time as he plays part of the De La Salle Canlubang Philippine baseball team competing in the 2010 Asia Pacific Youth Games set April 11-17 in Guam, USA.
The team will be accompanied by De La Salle Canlubang Principal Rafael Reloza and coach Bambol Servo as Jaz will play alongside Cholo Manuyag, Carl Miranda, Gab de la Cruz, Gio Alvarez, Paya Ofilada, Geof Magsadia, Ivan Hernandez and seven other players with the big support of www.natmoasia.com, www.casimirodev.com and www.activephilippines.com.ph.
With the RP flag a priority in his heart, Jaz will have to forego his participation in the second leg of the 2010 Magnolia Purewater Karting Super Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit this Sunday.
Lt. Gov. Michael Cruz, MD of Guam will be hosting the annual event which will be participated in by top schools in the Asia-Pacific region.
“It’s a big honor to carry the Philippine flag in such a prestigious event that I have to sacrifice my own campaign for the karting crown this Sunday. This is a different challenge for we will be playing against the bests in the region.
