MANILA, Philippines - A compact RP-Smart three-man team will slug it out with some of the world’s best amateur boxers in the 32nd King’s Cup slated April 1-8 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Funded by Pacific Heights and with the blessings of ABAP chairman Manny V. Pangilinan and president Ricky Vargas, the team is composed of light-flyweight Crisanto Godaren, flyweight Victorio Saludar and featherweight Jhergigs Chavez. Head coach is three-time Olympian Romeo Brin, a member of ABAP coaching staff.
“Pacific Heights is a longtime supporter of amateur boxing, especially grassroots development and women’s boxing, and proud to support the ABAP leadership under MVP in giving our young boxers the chance to gain much-needed international exposure,’’ said head of delegation and ABAP vice-president Manny Lopez.
