The team created a quite a sensation on its maiden stint last year as it introduced the world’s first ever diesel-powered drifting pick-up truck, the Mazda BT-50.

Despite the obstacles of modifying a full cab pickup truck into a drift car, the Mazda BT-50 made it among the top Four finishers of the drifting series dominated by heavily modified cars revving up to 400 horsepower and even pulled an upset over top favorite Nissan Sylvia s15.

This year, the TRS Drift Team will be introducing its newest car, the Mazda RX7 which is expected to make its own trail of achievements.

“Last year, the Mazda BT-50 Drift Truck and the Team performed beyond expectations and we’re expecting that racing excellence of the Mazda RX7 delivers intense action in the series” said to Mike Tuason, TRS Vice president of Operations.
