Pines Golf romps to easy Fil-Am win

BAGUIO, Philippines - Pines Golf of California amassed a total of 398 points and beat Camp Aguinaldo by 18 for the Fil-A title in the 60th Fil-Am Golf seniors championships at the Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay courses here Thursday.

Camp Aguinaldo failed to make it a double championship, unable to duplicate its triumphant finish in Am-A where it collected 355 points for a 19-point win over the host BCC. Capitol Hills finished third with 318.

In Fil-B, BCC romped off with the title after a four-day aggregate of 351, winning by 20 over Capitol Hills (331) and another five off Club Intramuros (326).

In Am-B, Square & Compass Golf of Nueva Ecija tallied 282 and beat Pines Golf of California by five with Travellers GC coming in third another 10 points down.

Isabela GC was a class of its own in Fil-C, totaling 334 for an 80-point rout of TNT Golfers Team II. Chamorro GC was third with 252.

Club Intramuros, with 236, escaped with a three-shot win over PGC-Chicago in Am-C. Paradise Greens took the second runner-up trophy with 195.

Isabela GC I, on the other hand, clinched the Fil-E title in the regular competition with 366 points, three off second placer Baguio Centennial IV. Stallion Team II settled for third place with 346.

In Am-E, Team Guam had a 34-point victory over Korea Morning Calm after tallying 333. Guam Friendship Golf Team settled for third place with 293.

In Fil F, Team Falken romped off with the title with its four-day production of 359. Summer Capital GC-North had 338 to take second place and Team Saver’s Mall Golf had 333 for third place.

In Am F, Isabela GC-Cauayan I, with 276, nipped NBI Golf Team 157 by two points and Isabela GC-Tuguegarao by another four points

Green Water Meadows II struggled for a final-round score of 68 but salvaged the Fil G championship on a tiebreak with Square and Compass I.

Either of the 15s of John Paul Puckett and Brian Puckett won it for Greenwater Meadows.

Rising Sun Japan took the Am G title by scoring 273, 15 off Chamorro and another six shots off Isabela GC-Cauayan II.

Meanwhile, Florene delos Santos of Fil-Champ winner Maxima/Komatsu took the individual title with 126 points. Art Molina of Pines Golf California took the Fil A crown with 122, while Ferdinand Ambatali and Melecio Asis both of Isabela GC took the Fil B and C titles, respectively, with their 96 and 86 points.
