Top international judges grace all-breed dog shows

MANILA, Philippines - The Asian Kennel Club Union of the Philippines (AKCUPI) is hosting two all-breed dog shows Nov. 28-29 and Dec. 5-6 to be graced by top international judges at the People’s Village of Tiendesitas en Frontera Verde in Pasig.

On hand to adjudicate the show Nov. 28-29 are Federacion Canina International president Jose Alberto Felix Fernandez, FCI international corporate affairs chair Maria Eugenia Ribelles and Japan Kennel Club preident Chihiro Ooshima.

Three American judges will adjudicate the FCI-Kennel Club Union of Asia (KCUA) All-Breed Dog Show Dec. 5-6.

The FCI and the Philippine Canine Open Masters Cups are up for grabs in the November 28-29 and December 5-6 shows, respectively.

“It’s an honor for AKCUPI and the canine industry to have the FCI president coming over to judge the show,” said Henry Babiera, a key AKCUPI official.

Babiera is president/CEO of Prime Asia Trade Planners and Convention Organizer (PATEPCO) which manages Tiendesitas, an 18-hectare property which houses the first and the largest flea market and theme park on Ortigas Avenue.

Its sprawling, all-weather People’s Village is the official dog show venue of the club which has been holding dog shows every last week-end of the month since January.  

AKCUPI which has so far registered over 14,000 purebred dogs since its launching March of last year and has a record-breaking registration of 1,200 puppies last month, disclosed that all dog entries should be registered with the club and that interested parties can visit its national office on 316 Quezon Avenue, Quezon City (across Pantranco on Roosevelt Ave.) with telephone nos. 3766597, 9941533 & 9941544, email ad: admin@akcupi.com, website:www.akcupi.com. Entry fee for puppies for the dog shows will be waived.
