MANILA, Philippines - The Mayor Alfredo Lim Manila 3-on-3 Inter-Barangay and Inter-School Basketball Championship kicks off today at the San Andres Complex in Manila.
A total of 120 barangay teams and 80 school teams are seeing action in the tournament jointly organized by the Manila Sports Council and the Manila Inter-Commercial Athletic Association in cooperation with the Manila Barangay Bureau, Vice-Mayor Isko Moreno and the City Council. The month-long tournament is supported by SM Investments, Petron Corp., The Bar, Emperador Brandy, Guardian Alcohol, Destiny Paints and Pagcor.
Lim will be the guest of honor and speaker during the opening ceremony. Also expected to grace the opening rites are Masco chief Niño dela Cruz, MBB head Roland Lim and Moreno.
A parade of athletes and a short program will precede the hostilities with Lim performing the ceremonial toss to formally open the tournament.
Barangay games will be held every Saturday, while school games will be held every Sunday at the San Andres Complex and at Delpan Sports Complex in Delpan, Binondo, Manila.
