MANILA, Philippines - Mars Pucay settled for a one-under par 71 and finished in joint seventh with compatriot Juvic Pagunsan in the rain-hit Iskandar Johor Open topped by PGA Tour veteran KJ Choi in Johor Bahru, Malaysia yesterday.
Pucay, just three shots behind Indian Himmat Rai at the start of the final round, failed to show the form that netted him a stirring 65 in the second round, finishing with four birdies against three bogeys for a 37-34 card.
He wound up with a 205 in a tie with Pagunsan, who rallied with a five-under 67 to gain a top 10 finish in the $1 million event. Each won $27,100 worth P1.27 million.
Tony Lascuña fired a 69 for a 209 to finish in joint 18th worth $11,616 while Angelo Que matched par 72 and wound up in 37th with a 212 ($6,500). Jay Bayron ended up in 56th with a 215 after a 74 ($2,250).
