Timex Run introduces new finish line gadgets

MANILA, Philippines - Hi-tech finish line gadgets will be used in the Timex Run set Nov. 15 at the Bonifacio High Street in Global City, Taguig.

Those include ChampionChips, a high-tech timing system for fast and accurate race results, a detailed RunPix performance analysis complete with graphic illustrations, and comparative results and top-notch action shots by PhotoVendo.

Organizers of the event sponsored by Timex said this would give participants the best package when they compete in the 3K, 5K, 10K and 21K races which offer cash prizes, brand- new Timex watches and other giveaways.

The event, billed as “Time is Running: The 2009 Timex Run with coach Rio and Piolo Pascual,” is expected to draw a banner field with celebrity endorsers of the world’s leading watch brand lined up to head the chase for top honors in various divisions.

Registration is ongoing at various Timex shops (SM Mall of Asia, SM North Edsa, Glorieta 3, SM Megamall, and SM Southmall) Robinsons Land showrooms (Amisa showroom, Robinsons Place Manila; Grand showroom, Robinsons Galleria; Trion Towers, Fort Bonifacio Global City), and Nike Park, Bonifacio High Street. Male & female race winners in all categories will receive Timex Ironman Triathlon watches, including Timex Heart Rate Monitor, the latest Nike running shoes, and cash prizes. A total of 50 Timex watches will be given away - 24 watches for the top three winners in each category and 26 watches to be raffled off to all participants, including a Timex Heart Rate Monitor and a Timex Expedition WS4. Also on tap is a photo contest offering P10,000 in total prizes and Timex watches.

Due to the expected big number of participants, only the first 3,000 entries will receive a singlet along with a race bib and a timing chip. Those who wish to join even without singlets will be accepted and will be given a P100 discount.
