Lim leads UE fun run

MANILA, Philippines - Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim will lead celebrities, alumni and students in the University of the East (UE) Fun Run 2009 tomorrow, at 5 a.m., at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) Complex.

The run kicks off a nine-day program celebrating the university’s 63rd foundation anniversary with the theme “Remembering, Celebrating, Envisioning”.

Lim, one of UE’s outstanding alumni, is participating in the opening event as special guest to help promote a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness.

Preceding the UE Fun Run is a street-dance-parade titled “Pugay Silangan”, featuring the UE Silanganan Dance Troupe, to be participated in by UE officials, management and rank-and-file employees, faculty members, athletes, students and alumni.

At stake in the Fun Run are cash prizes for the top three male and female runners from each group of UE students, faculty members, and management/rank-and-file employees.
