MANILA, Philippines - The National Cockers Alliance (NCA) is launching its new stag derby circuit with the opening on Sept. 8 at the Ynares Center in Pasig.
The derby is an all-participants derby, with the proceeds to be divided equally among the participants.
The event is for stags weighing 1.7-2.15 kg. Organizers said the stags must be duly inspected by the Negros Gamefowl Breeders Association, Salpukan, GF, MIGBA, SGBA, LGBA and Bakbakan.
Only stags unanimously approved by a committee headed by Johnny Jalandoni, a representative from Patrick Antonio, and Eric dela Rosa will be leg-banded and allowed to fight.
The entry with the highest points after the circuit will be declared NCA Stag Fighter of the Year and will receive P250,000. The runner-up receives P100,000.
The event will be participated in by the who’s who in Philippine cockfighting.
