SAN DIEGO – Miguel Tabuena of the Philippines lost to local bet Danny Ochoa in a sudden-death playoff for the boys’ 13-14 years crown of the San Diego Junior Masters at the Carlton Oaks course on Tuesday (Wednesday Manila time) here. He scored a 73 to finish tied with first round co-leader Ochoa at 141.
Edward Reyes struggled with a 75 in the boys championship division and settled for a share of third place.
Maan Legaspi also wound up third in the girls championship when she carded a 77-155 while Debbie de Villa (80-157) ended fourth in this tune-up tourney for Philippine kids playing in next week’s Callaway Junior World meet.
In the long-driving contest for the lower divisions, Miggy Yee won his second straight crown in the boys 11-12 years. RP bets Daniella Uy and Pauline del Rosario also topped their respective age groups.
