MANILA, Philippines – Adamson of Emelia Vega outplayed Ever Bilena of Pat Aquino, 96-84, to earn the right to meet Pharex in the finals of the MBT-Women’s Elite League Tuesday at the Metro gym in Mandaluyong City.
Analyn Almazan and Gretchen Roque combined for 52 points to frustrate Ever Bilena, which forced a rubber-match after winning the opening of their semis series, 76-75.
The Lady Falcons secured a twice-to-beat advantage in the semis after topping the elims of the tournament organized by commissioner Nilo Fernandez and supported by LWUA chairman Cong. Prospero “Butch” Pichay and Gov. Jun Ynares III of Rizal, and sponsored by Pagcor, h2club, Burlington, Express Bank, Wilson, Careline Pilipinas, Ever Bilena and Molten, the official ball of MBT.
Pharex secured the first finals slot after beating Army of General Charlie Holganza, 57-50, to advance to the finals.
Pharex and Adamson clash on Sunday with Almazan, Roque and Anna Regina Buendia expected to sizzle anew for the San Marcelino-based squad.
