MANILA, Philippines – Nadene Flores of AAK-Megamall bagged two gold medals in both kata and kumite events of the girls 8-9 years old division in the recent 2009 Milo-sponsored Super Karate Kids @ SM Supermalls SM Megamall leg.
Flores’ teammates from AAK-Megamall – Ven Silangil (8-9 boys kumite) and Jaime Lim (10-11 kumite) – also won gold medals in their respective events, together with Nathan Arojo (6-7 boys kumite), Jordan Guevarra (8-9 boys kata) and Patrick Diaz (10-11 boys kata) of AAK-LSGH.
Rounding up the winners’ roster with one gold were Jerome de Guzman (6-7 boys kata) of ASKA, Reggie Torres (10-11 girls kata) of AAK-St. Paul College Pasig, and Sam Fernandez (10-11 boys kumite) of AAK- Ateneo.
Organized by the Association for the Advacement of Karatedo (AAK), the Milo-sponsored Super Karate Kids is a nationwide series of competition where youngsters can display their karatedo skills, now on its 10th year. It is held in line with the commitment of Milo to help promote sports in the grassroots level and nurture future champions in life and in sports.
