MANILA, Philippines - The four-day Invitational 2009 comes off the wraps today with half of the field seeing action at the Masters and Legends courses of the Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club in Carmona, Cavite.
Among the special prizes at stake are Mitsubishi Lancer GLS manual transmission from Mitsubishi Motors/Diamond Motors and an Alaska Cruise from Royal Caribbean/Baron Travel with Korean business class tickets for two.
However, Manila Southwoods chairman Robert John Sobrepeña said that in case no one shoots an ace in four days, the car and cruise will be the main raffle items at the awards ceremony on Sunday.
“My only advice to my fellow members is just enjoy their rounds this week and have fun with all the preparations that the club has made for them. For sure, one member will bring home the car and another will get the cruise package,” Sobrepeña said.
Also at stake in the 36-hole Modified Stableford event are an Asian Cruise for two with airline tickets, a four-day golf vacation package inclusive of airfare, accommodation and rounds of golf to Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia courtesy of Sabah Tourism Board and a stay for two with breakfast at the Mactan Shangri-La.
Other prizes are SYM motorbike, a 2-HP split air-condition unit from Mit-Air Sales Center, another golf vacation package either to China or Bangkok from Coca-Cola, three golf sets from Wilson, Mizuno and Dynamic Sports and two golf carts from Club Car/Pacsports and Texas Eagle/The Turf Company.
ABW/Gargol, Asia Pacific Golf Corp., Castillo Laman Tan & San Jose Law Office, Camp John Hay, Citiaire Industrial Services, Dai-Carmona Laundry Services, Federal Management, Gloria’s Fantasy Land, Golden Oats, GRM Fasfood Services, Horizon Printers, IPI and Sherwood Hills are minor sponsors.
