MANILA, Philippines - Six Japanese Kuwayama drivers and three others from Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore make title chances a lot tougher for Filipinos today in the second leg of the 2009 Pagcor Sports KF2-KF3 Series at the Carmona Circuit Philippines.
Daiki Sasaki, who ruled Round 2 of the KF2 division, will again lead the charges for Kuwayama Racing together with Koki Hoshino, brothers Tsubasa and Reo Takahashi and Kyohei Yamashita in this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines (AAP) and sponsored by Pagcor Sports and Palmer Asia Inc. – The Fire and Security Expert.
The Japanese showed solid teamwork and strategy as the 17-year-old Sasaki pulled away at the start and almost pulled a 1-2-3 sweep if not for John Alvarez’ struggle to escape their determined timely dives to claim the runner-up finish.
Hoshino, aside from racing in the KF2 division, is hoping to make it double as he vies for the KF3 crown together with 12-year-old Ukyo Sasahara.
Ace Indonesian bet Senna Sulaiman Noor will also move up to the premiere KF2 division while Malaysian Mohammad Sharif Rahardjo and Singapore-based Christian Villanueve will be competing in the KF3 class.
With Noor moving up to the KF2 division, Round 1 winner Bobby Domingo of AUTS Racing and Alvarez of Maranello-San Miguel Corporation-Marcelo Racing will have to double up their effort to deliver the glory for the Philippine Flag.
Also vying for the KF2 crown are Jet Racing’s Javi Benitez and RG Romero, Ready2Race bet Juha Turalba, AUTS Racing’s Joseph Castelar and Mike Fox, Cebuano Patrick Gandionco and PCR-Tough Gear’s Vencer John Suba.
Roby Benito of Ready2Race is looking forward to his second win in the KF3 division with Jet Racing’s Franco Reyes, Andres Calma of San Miguel Corporation, AUTS Racing’s John Castelar, Jet Racing’s Renz Pazcoguin, Cebuano Jette Calderon and PCR-Tough Gear’s Vrei-Ar Suba.
