Golden Wheel, AAP honors boost Orduna's karting bid

MANILA, Philippines - Young karting champion Joey Orduna of Ready2Race Team looks forward to a more successful season, inspired by the recognition conferred by both the Golden Wheel Foundation and the governing Automobile Association Philippines.

Orduna, 13, is one of the few talented local karters that got the rare chance of being feted by both motorsport bodies.

This could provide the impetus for the International School-Manila student in his campaign this year with the valuable support of Ready2Race Team and its sponsors Tuason Racing School, Tony Kart, OTK kart parts, HJC Auto Helmets, Sparco Racing, AIM Racing gauges, Oakley Race Gear, Golden Harvest Integrated Services and Shipping, BANPU, Barwil-Smith Bell Shipping, Rio-Tinto, FARM and Ford Batangas.

“To be feted by both the Golden Wheel and the AAP is such a big honor and I’m deeply thankful and honored for their recognition which will inspire me to achieve bigger feats and sports excellence,” said Orduna.

Orduna got the awards for capturing both local ROK Junior Novice Karter of the Year and the Asian ROK Junior Karter of the Year plums, putting up a strong fight against World Cup champion Raphael Aguiar of Switzerland and European Series champ Martin Doubeck of Czech Republic despite finishing third in the Macau finals last November.
