Burlington, the leading name in the hosiery industry and a Superbrand, recently signed a new sponsorship arrangement with the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).
The PBA, for its part, renewed Burlington’s appointment as the league’s official socks. Burlington, which manufacturers BioFresh, Shock XT and Tech Gear, has been supporting the PBA since 1986.
The relationship started when Burlington backed the cage clinic segment of Norman Black in the television coverage. The clinic won several accolades from the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA), and the Sports Communicators Organization (SCO) of the Philippines.
Two years after, the pro league named Burlington its choice socks.
In the last five years, the two organizations have been conducting the Batang PBA basketball clinics and tourneys for boys 12 and below in the game venues and in malls. Burgy, the bubbly Burlington mascot, is also a regular fixture in the PBA games to spread cheers and distribute premium items to the fans.
