US Bowling Congress International Bowling Ambassador and six-time world champion Paeng Nepomuceno, was honored by the Bowlers Journal International, including him in their elite list of Top 100 Coaches, the only Asian to be included.
According to the Bowlers Journal International, America’s oldest, most influential and most prestigious bowling publication, “this prestigious honor has been bestowed upon coaches whose successes have deeply influenced and changed the coaching world.”
USBC turned to Nepomuceno in an effort to create an international coach training program and bolster the strength of federations within the bowling’s world governing body, the F.I.Q., Federation Internationale des Quilleurs.
Nepomuceno teamed up with the USBC to promote the sport around the world as an international bowling ambassador and coach whenever his competitive schedule allows him.
This is all in line with the continued efforts of USBC to secure a spot for the sport of bowling in the Olympics.
Training and certifying coaches for USBC for the past two years, Nepomuceno is USBC’s busiest coach-instructor. He has certified coaches in Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Brunei, and the Philippines and has conducted clinics and exhibitions in Milan and Australia.
Establishing another milestone for bowling, 2008 marked the first time a silver level coaching certification seminar was held outside the US. This year, he conducted four silver coaching accreditation seminars and 6 Level 1 and bronze level coaching accreditation seminars.
Nepomuceno was honored this year by the Guinness World Records for the third time for having won the most number of worldwide career tournament championship titles, winning his 118th career championship title last September in Melbourne.
