Binay table net cup slated this weekend

After its first three successful staging, the City of Makati is set to organize the Mayor Jejomar Binay fourth National Quarterly Age-Group Table Tennis Championship Dec. 6-7 at the Koliseum ng Bayan in Makati.

More than 300 participants all over the National Capital Region (NCR) and different provinces are expected to compete in the two-day tournament supported by long-time Makati City Mayor Jejomar “Jojo” Binay.

“I’m inviting all table tennis enthusiasts in the country to register and join our tournament,” said Binay, whose vision is to develop a competitive player who can bring pride to the country. “I’ll be proud if Makati produce a good national player.”  

To be contested are boys’ and girls’ 10-and-under, 12-and-under, 14-and-under, 17-and-under and men’s and women’s non-rank divisions.  

Match schedules organized by tournament director Antonio Aguinalde will be given to participants during the opening rites at 8 a.m. on Dec.6.

Registration is ongoing at the fifth floor, Makati Youth Center building, J. P. Rizal st., Guadalupe Viejo, Makati.

Third leg winners who will defend their titles are Ryan Rodney Jacolo and Angela Joyce Nesper (10-U); Daniel Cua of YMCA and Chantal Alberto (12-U): Rondell Blanco and Eden Leyva (14-U).
