The much-awaited superfight between Filipino Kevin Belingon and Guam’s Justin Cruz highlights the Colt 45-Universal Reality Combat Championship “Indestructible” which unfolds today at the A. Venue Events Hall in Makati Avenue, Makati.
Belingon, the reigning flyweight champion, is a powerful and accurate striker while Cruz, the bantamweight titlist, is a complete fighter.
“Close fight,” said the 21-year-old Belingon, a native of Baguio City who is also a wushu fighter for the past four years.
Cruz, a member of FOKAI, which is one of the top teams in Guam, is quite optimistic. “Chances are good. I came prepared.”
Another attraction is the clash between defending champion middleweight Caloy “Bad Boy” Baduria and Zhang Tie Quan, known as “The Mongolian Wolf” from the Black Tiger Team of China.
“If I didn’t want to win, I would’ve not come,” said the 5-9 Zhang, one of China’s most feared mixed martial fighters.
Matches begin at 7 p.m. with welterweight champion and SEAG medalist Eduard Folayang going up against Jerry Legaspi while undefeated pinweight champion Roy Docyogen faces national wrestler Jesus Rabadon in the other matches of the event supported by Pony, No Fear, Yoshinoya, E-Games, Solar Sports, Jack TV and A.
