Cebu basketball powerhouse University of San Carlos-South posted twin victories at the opening of the Visayas edition of the Futures Basketball League (FBL) held at the Sacred Heart School Jesuit covered courts in Cebu City.
USC-South beat its counterpart and defending champion USC- North, 47-8, in the junior division while its midget team posted an impressive, 60-23, victory over the Cebu Institute of Technology (CIT) as it opened defense of its title.
Other results of the inaugural games saw Don Bosco Cebu beating PAREF Springdale, 56-45, and Cebu Institute of Technology prevailing over University of San Jose Recoletos (USJR), 53-39, both in the junior division.
Don Bosco Cebu whipped Royal Oaks, 80-40, while the lone mini division game had host school Sacred Heart School Jesuit winning over South Western, 37-21.
Don Bosco Cebu is defending mini champion.
