Philippine Bowling Congress’ Jojo Ventura, Leo Joson and Willie Natividad tallied 1289 pinfalls to show the way in the men’s Group 1 trios competition of the 2008 UPHS-BALP Cup tenpin bowling championships at Gameworx in Festival Mall, Alabang.
Ventura carded 466 (223-243) to propel PBC to a five-pin edge over BALP-UPHS. Joson and Natividad backed Ventura with 414 and 409, respectively.
Mon Garcia led BALP-UPHS with 451 while Dan del Mundo and Ricky Punzalan added 417 and 416, respectively.
AMBA’s Billy dela Cruz (441), Philip Tumamak (420) and John Dizon (412) were third with 1273.
Other early trios’ leaders are MCTBA (1064) in men’s Group 2 and BALP-MCTBA-UPHS (1229) in the ladies’ division.
Mark Pana shot 397 to pace MCTBA over BAL-AMBA (1043) and BALP (1038) while Lala Tamayo exploded for 459 to lead BALP-MCTBA-UPHS over AMBA (1179) and PBA (1161).
