Top jr netters compete in Holcim-ITF

The 2008 Holcim-ITF Women’s Circuit (Week 1) fires off Nov. 11 with a stellar field, including the country’s top and upcoming netters, clashing for top honors at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Holcim Philippines, Inc., the leading cement company, has renewed its partnership with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Women’s Circuit tournament as it holds the 11th staging of the annual event put up to boost the Filipina athletes’ participation in the global sports event.

This year’s field includes the daughters of former cage star and current Purefoods basketball team manager Alvin Patrimonio – Anna Christine and Anna Clarice Patrimonio. The other RP ladies in the fold are Jessica-Marie Agra and Michelle Pang.

“The ITF competition gives an opportunity for young ladies to develop their passion for sports. It is a healthy and meaningful venue to strengthen their athletic capabilities,” said Holcim Philippines chief operating officer Ian Thackwray.

Since 1998, Holcim Philippines, Inc., formerly Union Cement Corp., has sponsored the event held to showcase the Filipino women’s passion for sports and at the same time inspire the RP athletes in the ITF.
